McAfee VirusScan Enterprise
The ultimate way to keep viruses out
of your desktops and servers
McAfee VirusScan Enterprise is an innovative technology for
PCs and servers. It proactively stops and removes malicious
software, extends coverage against new security risks, and reduces
the cost of responding to outbreaks. Enterprises cannot afford
to wait for every threat to be identified and a signature file
to be released. The time between attack and subsequent identification
is critical, and the shorter, the better. It is better yet if
your protection technology identifies new, unknown threats.
By blending advanced anti-virus, firewall, and intrusion prevention
technologies, VirusScan Enterprise covers a broad range of threats.
With advanced heuristics and generic detection it finds even
new, unknown viruses, even hidden in compressed files. McAfee
VirusScan Enterprise looks for exploits known to target Microsoft®
applications and services and will identify and block threats
that take advantage of JavaScript™ and VisualBasic coding.
And since virus protection is only as good as its latest update,
the McAfee VirusScan Enterprise database is updated daily with
information from McAfee® Avert® Labs, the world's top
threat research center.

McAfee Endpoint Encryption
formerly SafeBoot Encryption
According to a recent study by the Ponemon Institute, data breaches have cost companies upwards of $6.3 billion.1 It’s no wonder protecting information assets is one of the most important issues facing companies today.
Protect your company’s mission-critical information with McAfee Endpoint Encryption. This solution uses powerful encryption and strong access control to prevent unauthorized access to your sensitive data and stop its loss.
Endpoint Encryption offers two forms of encryption to protect data from unauthorized access wherever it is stored or travels:
- Full-disk encryption helps ensure that information remains secure when it’s stored on desktops, laptops, tablets, and other mobile devices
- File and folder encryption lets you control which specific file types and folders are encrypted—and ensure they stay encrypted regardless of where they are saved using Persistent Encryption Technology™
With both encryption types, encryption happens transparently and “on the fly,” with virtually no system performance degradation. There’s also no user interaction or training required. As a result, you never miss a beat to keep your data protected.
When users start up their PCs, they are met with strong two-factor authentication before their computers complete booting. These two factors could be the combination of a password challenge and possession of a smart card or token. Other options are also available. Thanks to single sign-on, once users authenticate, they have unfettered access to the information they need to do their jobs efficiently.
Through powerful encryption and strong access control, your data is now protected against unauthorized use. To demonstrate this fact to others and meet industry and government compliance requirements, Endpoint Encryption also offers extensive auditing and reporting capabilities.

McAfee Encrypted USB
formerly SafeBoot for USB
Small size and low costs combined with immense storage capacity make USB drives wonderfully useful, yet incredibly dangerous. Because they’re small, these devices are easy to lose or use for corporate espionage. Their huge storage capability increases the potential amount of data at risk.
In a McAfee-sponsored survey, 55 percent of respondents claimed that they regularly brought documents out of the workplace on a USB drive. Of those, 17 percent admitted they accidentally left their USB drive in a public place.
McAfee Encrypted USB protects data from leaving your company’s control through USB drives. McAfee Encrypted USB storage devices feature powerful encryption technology and strong access controls to ensure that information copied and stored on them is safe and can only be read by authorized persons.
Data is automatically encrypted “on the fly” with virtually no impact on performance. Because the encryption happens transparently to users, there is no interaction or training necessary.
Each Encrypted USB storage device is capable of supporting multiple end users. Users maintain their own secure, password-protected partitions. When users enter their passwords, it unlocks the device and grants users access to their data.
Administrators can also create an optional “public area” in which to store information that doesn’t need to be encrypted.
Centralized management enables you to centrally define and enforce securities policies to ensure data stored on devices remains protected in case they are lost or stolen. It also allows you to deploy and manage any number of Encrypted USB storage devices and users. In addition, you can leverage your existing Microsoft Active Directory implementation to match users and Encrypted USB devices.
Finally, Encrypted USB helps you meet your compliance goals with extensive auditing capabilities. For example, prove that a USB device was encrypted at the time it was lost.

McAfee Port Control
formerly SafeBoot Port Control
As long as PCs have been in use, they have featured wired ports to connect them to peripherals and networks among other things. In recent years, wireless connectivity has become increasingly popular as well. And while these wired and wireless ports are obviously useful, they also pose a potential security threat to your customer information and proprietary data. Any number of unapproved devices could be attached to your endpoint ports and used to siphon off your confidential information.
McAfee Port Control helps keep your sensitive data from leaving your company through strong access control. Only authorized individuals may connect only approved devices to PC ports, including memory sticks, removable disks, and more.
Through a centralized management console, you establish security policies that control how users copy information to removable devices and media. You can even synchronize these security policies with existing solutions, such as Microsoft Active Directory, Novell eDirectory, and PKI. These security policies then run transparently to keep users productive. The only time users would even become aware of Port Control would be if they attempted to use an unauthorized storage device in violation of your established policies.
This solution’s centralized management gives you precise control over all devices, regardless of how they are attached to your endpoints. You have the options of enabling or disabling an entire class of devices through standard policies, or allowing some while disallowing others through policies with exceptions:
- Standard policy: No removable drives allowed
- Policy with exception: No removable drives allowed except Manufacturer A’s USB memory stick
Finally, Port Control integrates with McAfee Endpoint Encryption (formerly SafeBoot® Encryption) and other technologies to provide end-to-end data and device security within your environment.

McAfee AntiSpyware Enterprise
Anti-Spyware for desktops
From small businesses to the largest enterprise, we protect
you from potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) with our unique
and award-winning on-access scanning technology. Most anti-spyware
software is reactive in that it catches unwanted programs
after they have been installed on your systems. But by then
it is often too late, because most PUPs install in many
places - as components that all need to be cleaned up. McAfee
on-access scanning catches the problem when it first tries
to install on your system.
You can use AntiSpyware Enterprise by itself, or integrated
with McAfee VirusScan Enterprise. When integrated, they
share a common scanning engine. This reduces system overhead
and optimizes system performance. As a standalone installation
it works compatibly with other anti-virus products.

McAfee Hercules Policy Auditor
Demonstrate compliance with security
policy
Enterprise security risk management doesn't stop at network
and system protection. That's only part of the story. Equally
important is compliance to corporate security policies and government
and industry regulations. And it's not enough to be compliant;
it's also critical to show it—a daunting and time-consuming
task. Your IT staff spends an inordinate amount of time and
effort manually collecting data, identifying IT controls, and
managing silos of policies for your business assets. Justifying
your compliance budget is just as challenging. You need an efficient
and accurate way to audit managed systems against internal and
external IT controls–and report on how compliance improves
over time.
Get proactive about compliance. It's the best way to prevent
harmful attacks and their repercussions, while you satisfy auditors,
executives, and IT staff. McAfee Hercules Policy Auditor, a
key component of the McAfee approach to security risk management,
delivers automated policy audit of managed assets and in-depth,
agent-based risk prioritization for Microsoft® Windows®
systems. Hercules Policy Auditor simplifies the process of demonstrating
compliance, increases efficiency, and reduces uncertainty.
Predefined templates map IT controls to industry regulations
and policies. Centralized reporting of compliance to policies
increases efficiency. With regularly updated policy templates
combined with agent-based software, you'll be able to take inventory
more accurately, assess risk, and prioritize remediation of
managed assets.

McAfee Data Loss Prevention Host
Prevent malicious and unintended loss
of confidential data
Your corporate data—financial documents, customer data,
source code, intellectual property—is your lifeblood.
And it’s often just a few mouse clicks away from being
distributed where it shouldn’t be. Lose your data, and
you risk harm to your reputation or fines for noncompliance
with government and industry regulations.
Experts say that the average cost of one incident of data loss
for large organizations is estimated at $4.8 million. Don’t
expose yourself to the risk of deliberate or accidental data
loss. Control your critical information with McAfee® Data
Loss Prevention (DLP) Host—a key component of our approach
to security risk management.
McAfee is the largest dedicated security company to offer comprehensive
data loss prevention that addresses data loss perpetrated by
insiders as well as from external threats. We cover all sources
of data loss—from roaming laptops to the network, from
email and IM to USB flash drives and printers.
Unlike gateway-only solutions that only control some network
channels, McAfee DLP provides universal protection to prevent
data loss everywhere: at work, at home, and on the road. Even
the data on laptops disconnected from the network are protected.
Through the logging and analysis server, deploy centrally managed
policies, monitor real-time events, and generate reports. Apply
security policies regulate and restrict how your employees use
and transfer sensitive data without interfering with normal
business activities. Protect your enterprise from threats originating
from the outside—Trojans, worms, or file-sharing applications
that hijack employee credentials without their knowledge to
steal sensitive information for malicious purposes.
Centralize policy enforcement and use detailed reports, so
that you can track the whereabouts of proprietary assets.
