We were invited by our partners, Good Technology to their launch of Good For Samsung Knox at Grange St.Paul’s Hotel on Tuesday 10th February.

On arrival, we were greeted by members of both the Good Technology and Samsung team. Amongst those in attendance, there was a buzz of anticipation over the launch from both customers and channel partners. After a short networking session, presentations began.

Speaking on behalf of Good Technology, Phil Barnett, VP and General Manager for EMEA, began proceedings by talking about the anticipated growth of Android devices in the enterprise, which has grown 300% from Q1 2014. The relationship between Good and Samsung has been in the works for some time, and both parties were delighted to be making the official announcement and launch of Good for Samsung Knox.

Good Technology has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Good have been behind innovation for a long time and they proved that this ethos is still ingrained into the business. Barnett spoke of solutions that have been deployed recently for a utilities company that allows for their engineers to access and edit documents remotely and securely, as well as ensuring health and safety was of paramount importance.

Good have recently deployed an application via Good Dynamics that sends a notification to admin if a device has been dropped from a height whilst working on telegraph poles, allowing them to check on the safety of their engineers. The devices provided by Samsung in this instance were ruggedized, ensuring that the device would still be in working condition.

Ian Hoddle, Director of Enterprise Sales at Samsung then took to the stage, discussing a variety of interesting topics around innovation on mobile devices. With wearable technology becoming more prominent in the enterprise, devices such as Samsung Gear watches can now be used securely with the security of Good Technology integrated.

Working alongside Samsung Knox, Good’s containerised solution can eliminate malware concerns and vulnerabilities in the enterprise. It does this by creating a Good secured domain within a Knox secured OS.

The live demo of the solution struck a chord with those in attendance, as Brian Reed, Chief Mobility officer at Good Technology showcased the features that Good for Samsung Knox gives users.

The partnership between Good Technology and Samsung is an exciting one for those in the enterprise. One which allows for continued innovation, whilst delivering the same promise of security.
