After GDPR and InfoSec, what’s the next big event that will grab your attention? Yes the world’s biggest football event launches shortly on 14th June and will dominate the news and office conversations until the middle of July. To help you plan and enjoy this fiesta of football, AVR has three fabulous, uniquely designed Elliott Quince World Cup wall planners to give away! To be in with a chance, all you need do is to be one of the first three to answer one simple question!
InfoSec is coming to town and AVR would love to be your personal guide! Infosecurity Europe is where the key players in IT security and data protection gather together. This year the expo takes place from 5th to 7th June at London Olympia and with over 400 exhibitors and 240 conference sessions, there is lots to see and do. To ensure you get the most value from your visit, AVR will guide you to the most relevant solution providers. Just tell us what your priorities are and we will create a personalised visit plan. We’ll even treat you to refreshments and lunch too!
A cyber attack or data breach is no laughing matter. They could cost you big time and that’s even without the potential GDPR fines from the end of May 2018. But we’d like you to have a damn good laugh at our expense and invite you to join us for a fun evening of laughter, fine food and refreshments on the evening of Thursday 24th May at the 99 Comedy Club in London’s Leicester Square.
Now that Spring is finally here, you can stop hibernating and get out and about again! What better way to do so than to join AVR for Afternoon Tea at our Twyford office on Friday 27th April? Enjoy delicious sandwiches, cakes and refreshments, enter our prize draw and take home an AVR goodie bag!
With the dramatic increase in cyber attacks, the growth in ransomware and the forthcoming GDPR regulations, the necessity for businesses to fully protect their networks, endpoints and data has never been so critical. This was the core of the messaging that Andy James of Custodian360 delivered to over 70 attendees at the First Friday Club network event at the Cote Brasserie in Reading on Friday 6th April.
‘Protect your endpoints’ is the key message from all the IT security experts and with good reason. With all of us having so many devices – mobiles, smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops, etc – the cyber attack or data breach threat is broader than ever and this fractured approach works in the cyber criminals’ favour. Many solution providers claim to have a product that can defeat or prevent an attack but few can claim total protection. One that can is McAfee©, arguably the most recognised IT security brand and market leader in Endpoint Security.
GDP-AARGH! Is that your reaction when you see or hear anything about the fast approaching General Data Protection Regulation? Many of us feel we have been swamped with alerts and warnings about all the work that is required for GDPR, the consequences if we don’t get organised and our data is breached. All businesses will have to review the way they manage and control data and be aware of the restrictions on marketing but with a little planning and organisation, you can keep your focus on your business. Here’s how AVR can help you!
With the rapid changes in cyber security over the last few years, it’s vital that threat protection solutions match the exploits of the cyber criminals and meet the needs of businesses and organisations to ensure they remain secure. One of AVR’s key service tenets is to keep close to all of our customers and industry prospects to be certain we have the right solutions. One way of doing that is to run surveys where we ask the recipients for their views. We have one currently running that offers a free £10 Starbucks Coffee voucher and we invite you to participate!
Take a look at the headlines on any news media at any time of any day and you could be forgiven thinking that the world has fallen out of love. War, politics, cyber attacks, religious hatred, sexism, racism and so on. Bad news sells newspapers as they used to say. Mid February gives us the opportunity, just for a brief moment, to share the love, albeit in a slightly manufactured way. St Valentine’s Day mostly benefits flower sellers and chocolate manufacturers, but it does remind us that expressing love is no bad thing and at AVR, we have decided to embrace the emotion too!
Now we’re not ones to scare monger but when the head of the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre says that a major cyber attack on the UK is only a matter of time then that seems pretty serious to us! Ciaran Martin who runs the Security Centre suggests that the lessons learned from the malicious cyber activity in 2017 indicates that more cyber disruption is on its way.
So as a business owner or IT professional, what can you do to make sure you’re organisation is not in the firing line?
